In April Estate Treasures, an upscale resale shop in Chester, begins celebrating its 25th anniversary with a three-day sale. Shoppers who visit Estate Treasures at Kent Towne Market on April 22, April 23 and April 25, 2016 will spin the “Treasure Wheel” for discounts on all store merchandise.
Estate Treasures was founded in 1991 by a group of volunteers who wanted to offer their retail experience and business skills to support Hospice of Queen Anne’s, now Compass Regional Hospice. For the past 25 years Estate Treasures has been run by more than 100 men and women who volunteer their time and talent to manage shop operations, staff retail shifts and plan fundraisers that benefit Compass Regional Hospice.
Estate Treasures sales and other fundraisers such as the annual Fashion Show have netted more than $2 million for the hospice care and grief support programs offered by Compass Regional Hospice.
The 25th anniversary will be marked by a variety of sales and activities to recognize the contributions of the Estate Treasures volunteers and to thank shoppers for their support. On Friday, April 22, Saturday, April 23 and Monday, April 25, 2016 shoppers will be greeted by a volunteer doing her best Vanna White “Wheel of Fortune” impersonation. Every shopper will have an opportunity to spin the “Treasure Wheel” to receive one of three levels of discount – 25, 50 or 75 percent.
The discount applies to all items in the shop, which includes gently worn and carefully used men’s and women’s clothing, fashion accessories, books, collectibles and small household items donated by members of the community.
The first Estate Treasures sale of the 25th anniversary season coincides with Compass Regional Hospice’s Volunteer Week celebrations.
“We hold our Estate Treasures volunteers in the highest esteem,” says Courtney Williams, manager of volunteer and professional services for Compass Regional Hospice. “They run a beautiful shop all year long that has earned a reputation for high quality merchandise at outstanding prices. We are most grateful for their efforts and the funds they raise to help us provide hospice care and grief support to people of all ages in Queen Anne’s, Kent and Caroline Counties.”
Estate Treasures is located at 17 Kent Towne Market in Chester. Store hours are 10:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Saturday. All retail sales are tax free. Donations of clean, gently used items in good condition are accepted during store hours.
