The Historic Chesapeake City Merchant’s Association is sponsoring an Old Fashioned Fall Festival on Sunday, Oct. 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Pell Gardens. This is a family event for the town and surrounding community.

Activities will include games, square dancing, hay rides, a scarecrow hunt, vendors, food, a “cake walk,” music and more. Food will include Milburn Orchard’s apples, cider, doughnuts and goods from the Cecil County Farmer’s Market. Bring a blanket or chair and spend the day.

The town is also holding a pumpkin decorating contest, with winners to be announced on Saturday, Oct. 17. If you are interested in participating, please email or call Natalie Gentry at 410-885-2330 or nmgentry22@hotmail.com. Please let Natalie know your street address so the judges can stop by your house or business in Chesapeake City. The pumpkin must be on display outside. No carving allowed, keep the pumpkin whole, but etching is OK. Only one pumpkin per household, please.
