Participants Raise Critically Needed Funds for Alzheimer’s Care, Support and Research

The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting Virginia’s Eastern Shore residents to unite in a movement to reclaim the future for millions by participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s®. The annual walk will take place at the Senior Perspectives Office, 9559 Hospital Avenue Nassawadox, VA 23413 on Saturday, October 5 at 10 a.m. The Eastern Shore Walk to End Alzheimer’s is regionally sponsored by BayPort Credit Union.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s is more than a walk. It is an experience for over 150 participants on the Eastern Shore who will learn about Alzheimer’s disease and how to get involved with this critical cause, from advocacy opportunities, the latest in Alzheimer’s research and clinical trial enrollment to support programs and services. Each walker will also join in a meaningful ceremony to honor those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

Registration is free, but if participants raise $100 they will receive at T-shirt. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., ceremony starts at 9:30 and the 1 to 3 mile walk begins at 10 a.m. Dogs are welcome as long as local leash and clean up laws are followed.
