Delaware Capital Region Bridal Showcase to also Have Groom’s Day that includes NHL Hockey, Cash Bar and Men’s Wearhouse
Delaware Capital Region Bridal Showcase
The third annual Delaware Capital Region Bridal Showcase scheduled for Sunday, February 17 at the Hilton Garden Inn will focus on the grooms and groomsmen as much as it will on the brides-to-be.
“Grooms who attend with their bride-to-be can enjoy our ‘Groom’s Lounge,’ see the latest in apparel for grooms and groomsmen by Men’s Wearhouse, and have the opportunity to receive a free flower for their bride courtesy of Cook & Smith Florist,” said Charles Gray, Director of Sales at Kent County Tourism who is coordinating the showcase. All grooms and groomsmen will also be entered into a drawing for a free Dover Days Car Show registration.
In addition more than 30 exhibitors, the host hotel Hilton Garden Inn will provide hors d’oeuvres, the televised NFL match-up between the Buffalo Sabres and the Pittsburgh Penguins in the lounge, and a cash bar. Hilton Garden Inn is providing the grand prize for the event — a $1,600 value — which will include a free rehearsal dinner for up to 25 guests with five overnights at the hotel. A fun scavenger hunt with prizes will also be held that day.
“Today’s weddings can be just as beautiful on a small budget or a limitless one,” Mr. Gray said. “With so much attention on the bride, the gown can be overshadowed by not-so-well designed groom’s wear. Representatives from the Men’s Wearhouse will be on hand to assist, and a select amount of men’s fashions will be featured during the roaming fashion show.”
“Every groom’s ‘best day ever’ may include food and drinks. Samplings of cake designers, hors d’oeuvres, a cooking demonstration, and more will be available throughout the showcase,” Mr. Gray added.
Brides who register by February 15 will receive free admission. Guests of the bride, including grooms, can enter at the door for $10, or save $5 by registering online before February 15. Brides and her guests can register online at www.delawarecaptialregionbridalshowcasecom, where a list of the exhibitors is available with links to their websites.
“Kent County is home to some fabulous accommodations, wedding venues and service providers for the blushing bride and groom,” Mr. Gray added. “This showcase covers most services and products associated with wedding planning, which will also be included in the official guide to the Showcase, provided by the show’s Media Sponsor, the Delaware State News.”
“Our first-ever Designer Cake Competition, sponsored by Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham and the AmericInns of Kent County, is an exciting new addition and a first for Kent County. We look forward to awarding our ‘Best Overall’ and ‘Most Creative’ cash awards of $700,” Mr. Gray said, “Brides, who will name the winners, should not miss this event. The best service provider for any wedding is the local one. Some shows feature service providers from large cities that also come with hefty price tags for their services. Grooms can appreciate the exhibitors from our showcase, because they are local and provide more ‘bang for the buck’.”
