Maryland’s DNR Welcomes Public Input On Old Bohemia Wildlife Management Area

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking public input on the 15-year vision for Old Bohemia Wildlife Management Area (WMA). The 1,003-acre property was acquired by DNR in 2009 and is located in lower Cecil County, north of Warwick. The DNR will accept public comment on the plan through March 30, 2012.

Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center to Open Weekends

Delaware State Parks 2012 fee season to begin March 1

DNREC’s Division of Parks and Recreation reminds visitors to Delaware’s state parks that entrance fees will be collected beginning Thursday, March 1. The fee season extends until November 30.

The Point at Cape Henlopen State Park to close for 2012 beachnesting season

The Point at Cape Henlopen State Park, including a stretch of ocean beach and dunes, and a half mile along the bay shoreline, will close beginning Thursday, March 1 for the benefit of piping plovers, oystercatchers, least terns and other threatened and endangered beachnesters and migratory shorebirds.

Rep. Andy Harris and Rep. Richard Hanna Sponsor Tubman Park Bill

Today, Reps. Andy Harris (MD-01) and Richard Hanna (NY-24) introduced legislation to establish The Harriet Tubman National Historical Park co-located in Maryland and New York. The Maryland portion of the park would be located in Caroline, Dorchester and Talbot Counties and the New York location would be in Auburn.
