Governor Larry Hogan today issued a statewide proclamation declaring the week of Sunday, August 30th, to Saturday, September 5th, 2015 to be Overdose Awareness Week in Maryland. This week also aligns with the launch of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) National Recovery Month.

Wicomico County Partners with Matrix Soccer Academy to Expand Offerings for Youth

Wicomico County has partnered with the Matrix Soccer Academy to expand its youth soccer offerings. The new partnership will provide a player development program, bridging the gap between recreational and select soccer. Registration has just opened for the Wicomico Soccer League’s expanded offerings, which are slated to kickoff this fall.

MD State Police Helicopter Performs Hoist Rescue in Wicomico County

The Maryland State Police Aviation Command’s “Easton Section - Trooper 6” was dispatched for the hoist mission. The helicopter crew consisted of Pilot in Command: Mr. Brian Martin, Second in Command: Mr. David Eldredge, Crew Chief/Flight Paramedic: Corporal Brian Francis and Rescue Technician: Trooper Tyler Brice.
