DNREC’s DART Mid-County Community Yard Waste Demonstration Site will close for a week, from Wednesday, April 28 through Thursday, May 6, for maintenance activities. The site is located on the Southwest corner of the intersection of U.S. Route 13 and Route 72 near Bear.

Volunteers Make a Difference

On Saturday, April 17, volunteers—including families from around the state, Boy Scout Troop 24, and the Wolfe 3 team from the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC)—joined with DNREC and planted 800 natives trees at the Blackbird Creek Reserve near Townsend.

TRAFFIC ALERT – Paving Project Will Require Lane Closures on Route 299/Middletown Odessa Road

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that motorists should expect daytime lane shifts and closures on Route 299/Middletown Odessa Road between Route 13 and the Park & Ride just west of Route 1 for milling and paving. This project will also include Route 1 ramps.

Delaware’s Turkey Checkpoints for Spring Season

The 2010 Delaware spring turkey hunting season opens Thursday, April 10 and runs through Friday, April 30. Hunting hours are a half-hour before sunrise until 1 p.m. Hunters are reminded that all birds taken must be checked by 2:30 p.m. on the day of the hunt at an authorized turkey check station.
